The apparently misguided gratitude is familiar. This is what monotheism looks like. Henotheism? And they at least have reason to believe their god-equivalent exists.
At the end, I found myself saying, "Still less dangerous than Christianity." Maybe not. But in Xtianity, a man who "speaks for God" can do a lot of damage.
