Yesterday as I was walking the dogs, a neighbor's dog ran across the street--apparently toward us while I had my back turned--got hit by a car, and died. Ugh. Apparently he was three years old and should have known better, but then I have an eight-year-old cat who keeps crossing traffic toward me, freaking me out.
