There's a story Yeshua told about a man who had his debts forgiven but did not forgive a debt his friend owed him. Such hypocrisy was a pet peeve of the man so many Westerners claim to worship.
Wall Street gets bailed out by governments (not just ours) all the time, then grind the people more, and "punish" us for "being bad"--really because we're there. They are an aristocracy, a plutocracy, they'll say they're a meritocracy.
Yeshua had another thing he said. Let me paraphrase:
Hey, you, rich man on the hill. Go home tonight, take the night off, have a nice steak dinner, break out the good wine, make love to your wife, have a good time. Suck the marrow of pleasure out of your life built on stolen treasure.
For soon, maybe tomorrow, I come for you, like the thief in the night.
